Siri Pettersson
Den usynlige solen
28/05/2026—27/06/2026
In the exhibition Pettersson presents textile and paper works in a spatial composition through which visitors can make their way, as if leafing through the space.
Through drawings, collages, and impressions on, beneath, and between the woven network of threads, the textile’s structure and surface are decoded. Threads dyed with oil paint are compressed in a printing press against the paper, scanning the weave.
Siri Pettersson (b. 1990, Sweden) is currently studying a master’s degree at KHiO in Oslo. Her artistic practice is rooted in the controlled format of hand weaving. By weaving together thousands of thin linen threads side by side in layers, she creates works in textile and paper that seek to break with the grid pattern of the weave and form a contrast to the basic geometric principles of the craft.
She previously studied at Handarbetets Vänner school in Stockholm, Kawashima Textile School in Kyoto and holds a journeyman’s certificate in hand weaving. Collaboratively and individually, she works on exhibitions and public art projects. Recently she exhibited at Soft Gallery (2026), Liljevalsch Konsthall, Stockholm (2025), Not Quite, Fengersfors (2024), and Konstakademin, Stockholm (2024). Her works have been acquired by the Public art agency Sweden, several municipalities in Sweden, and Art in the Workplace (KPA).
